Cedar Woods and the Department of Housing have been successful in receiving a $3.7m grant under the Federal Government’s Economic Stimulus Package Housing Affordability Fund (HAF) for the Harrisdale Green joint venture project.
Proceeds from the grant are to be passed on to eligible purchasers via a significant rebate.
The grant was awarded to part fund the extension of essential water, sewer and power mains to the site and construction of earthworks and stormwater drainage for the first two major stages of the project.
The Housing Affordability Fund is a five year, $512million grants program administered by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs aimed at addressing barriers to affordable housing caused by high infrastructure costs and long planning approval times. The current round of grants was targeted specifically for infrastructure or planning reform projects for new greenfield and infill developments that would result in new housing construction being brought forward.
